Literary colloquium

On 15 November from 18:30, the Literary Studies Colloquium (organization: Anke Jaspers) will be dedicated to the presentation of two new literary publications on the literature of the Enlightenment: Robert VELLUSIG (Graz) will present his volume "Lessing und die Folgen", published by Metzler in 2023. Norbert Christian WOLF (Vienna) will talk about his volume "Glanz und Elend der Aufklärung in Wien", published by Böhlau in 2023. The book presentation will be moderated by Gideon STIENING (Hamburg).

Following the book presentation, the ÖGG will award the Wendelin Schmidt-Dengler Prizes 2023. As every year, the prizes are awarded for outstanding dissertations in the field of German studies.

The Wendelin Schmidt-Dengler Prize 2023 - sponsored by the City of Vienna's Department of Cultural Affairs (MA 7) - will be awarded in equal parts to Marlen Mairhofer for her dissertation entitled "In Exchange - Economies of Difference in Marlen Haushofer, Ingeborg Bachmann and Hélène Cixous", which was approved at the University of Salzburg, and Sarah Hutterer for her dissertation entitled "The Constance World Chronicle - Modular Textual Practice in Late Medieval Writing. Edition and investigations".

The International Wendelin Schmidt-Dengler Prize 2023 - funded by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research - goes to Thomas Traupmann for his dissertation entitled "Fortschreibende Vertextung. On the poetics of Karl Kraus' drama project The Last Days of Mankind".

Location: SZ 15.22 (ReSoWi, Building G, 2nd floor)
